Perhaps you should move to the US. They love that flag waving stuff....and you can see just how much good it's done them. They also shoot about 30 000+ of each other each year etc etc. They're good at all that stuff.
Australians used to be able to celebrate without feeling the urge to show-off. Many still are able to do that. Traditionally, Australians never felt the urge to show-off to try to convince ourselves that we were having fun or something??? Not sure what makes people need to do that?? You obviously know. Perhaps you can enlighten me!!....lol.
I spent my day with my family enjoying each other's company, and celebrating the fact that we don't need to spoil someone else's day to fulfil our own.
I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones.
