Well I would go far as to agree that the Lynas byproduct is not food that should be sprinkled on top of your chips.
That does not automatically make it waste however.
It only becomes waste when it has no further use... the intent to recycle it makes it anything but waste.
The bigger picture is that this is not highly radioactive as many anti-lynas have claimed.. indeed, it is far lower than many everyday items, even the ones we dare put in our mouthes.
Did you notice the radiation reading on that lantern mantle ?
Is that waste ?
