If Pilger was an older man, and born in the UK, I am certain he would have been part of the despicable and traitorous Cambridge Five.

One can't always predict the direction in which a certain group which has, for a very long time, been disfranchised, and brutally suppressed, will go, after grabbing its chance for liberty.

But a similar even occurred in Eastern Europe, when its population, post the end of WW11, and after being BRUTALY supressed under the Soviet hammer for a long period of time, welcomed freedom with open arms. Why can't those who live in the ME do the same? Is it, because of their ingrained religious intolerance, they don't understand, or appreciate, the meaning of freedom, partly?
