It's about pitching it to investors though - that's where the company needs to focus some attention. It's not about releasing new data or re-releasing old data it's the fact they had the exposure through the interview &/or article(s) - investors like this all it's about is getting it to your target market. In itself presenting to some night time WA radio station or an article in a state based newspaper is probably not going to have any effect or garner any interest where as listeners in the right market take something out of it. All it's about is linking those articles / interviews through the right feeds to hit the target market - nps through ASX would at least grab the attention of investors not the "general interest" it hits of its own accord.

As for the "countless presentations each year to highly targeted groups" they still miss the investor target. These are really just based on trying to secure new deals or partners - there is only a very very small part of the registry that is held overseas. The market you need to hit is the Australian investor base if you want to build value. Letting things like the articles & interviews slide by is giving away the easy takes. Investors like to see the company is getting publicity, they like to see the outside interest, they like to see they are being proactive - the more you can keep them updated the more interest you will attract from the Australian investor - you go cold for months on investors they will go cold back on market.
