This is a well known typology Ebed_Keraz and the bible is resplendent with many examples of such typologies.


Pastor Doug Batchelor in this sermon does a very good job demonstrating this relationship regarding the story of Rahab the Prostitute.

Rahab was a Canaanite whore who through her knowing Yahweh was saved from the annihilation that was going to be metered out by God.

Deuteronomy 20:17 (KJV)
17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee:

Saved from destruction she is mentioned in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus himself in several places in the Bible one in Matthew's

5 Salmon fathered Boaz by Rahab, Boaz fathered Obed by Ruth, Obed fathered Jesse,


The Apostle Paul commends the faith of Rahab and includes her in his list of Old Testament individuals who have triumphed by faith.
Rahab the Canaanite prostitute who became an ancestress of the Lord Jesus saved from marked destruction is the only woman besides Sarah who is designated as an example of faith in the saints who are in heaven.
