Hi all,
I have been following NTL for a while. I understand the following:
1) Rahu exploration permit (60144) until recently sat with NTL who unsuccessfully applied to extend the permit. This was given to NCM
2) NCM and LNY are awaiting mining permits on wider areas surrounding g talisman and rahu that the have joint agreements (farm in etc)
3) NCM do not hold a mining permit over Rahu yet.
4) mining permit is in place for talisman
5) NTL understand the Rahu site, have data and access agreements
6) NTL have advised they have 'obligations' under the NTL/NCM agreement - although no one knows the details of this agreement.
7) potential bonanza gold quantities in Rahu zone
What I don't understand is as follows - and if anyone can assist I would be grateful:
1) NCM can do the testing themselves to determine likely quantities of gold - they can continue with LNY which would surely provide more commercial benefit
2) NCM know how to dig and have been doing it a while - why do they need NTL. Are the access agreements that important?
3) could they use the existing NTL mine entry and infrastructure to mine Rahu - would NTL do the hard work and NCM back the proposal.
4) do the resource consent condition change application apply only to Talisman or Rahu also - I understand these are public records and an OIA can obtain this.
I, like everyone else have more questions than answers.
