    Doubt it's to sink MMX SP, GBG has no desire to buy MMX on cheap. More likely it's a tactic to force MMX to the negotiating table.

    It's good business practice for GBG anyway, the board would be neglecting their duty to shareholders if they didn't plan a contingency.
