Greetings all (if there is anybody left),
There was an interesting article in the Fairfax press today about Aurizon (Queensland Rail) selling down its stake in its own infrastructure assets to free up funds for acquisitions, including buying a minority stake in the infrastructure assets of Fortescue Mining.
See: http://www.theage.com.au/business/aurizon-restructure-looms-20130513-2jib0.html
The article goes on to mention that Aurizon "is involved in a joint study with Atlas Mining and Brockman Resources for a new open-access rail line in the Pilbara in Western Australia, which is still being finalised".
Unfortunately the article doesn't discuss any connection between the Fortescue deal and the joint study with Atlas and Brockman, but it seems to imply that there is such a connection.
I haven't been following any of these developments recently and am keen to know if BCK may yet use Fortescue's rail line courtesy of Aurizon. If so, perhaps things are finally looking up?
