These guys are all about securing Aussie resources for Communist Red China. The timeline doesn't matter much in their overall scheme of things. It's amazing how brazen they were when they tried to pull off the same stunt on FRS (only for FRS to turn the table on them).
When FRS (retrospectively we now know they were in advanced discussion with AGO behind the scenes) said "okay, since BRM is coming to bed with you, we will think about jumping in too", my heart sank in disbelief thinking the world had gone mad.
It would be nice if FMG strikes a deal with AGO (leaving WNI completely in the cold with a billion ton of stranded resource and nowhere to go). No Hancock or QR deal either.
Maybe WNI will then engineer a takeover of RIO or BHP using WNI scrips.
