Loadings imposed by iron ore trains are the heaviest around.
Density of timber is approx 500 (V Soft) to 1000+ (V Hard) kg/m3, iron ore density is approx 2500-2800 kg/m3. So the carriage and axle loadings would increase dramatically if carrying IO.
If the company building the railway has their own IO tenements then they would, most likely, be designing for that.
As I said earlier I've really only just started looking at this so if there's any announcements that have lead everyone to understand that the railway line will be designed for IO please let me know.
