re: rain... gold coast...flooding We live at Robina on a usually closed-in lake - hubby just went out on his kayak for a look around & then rang up & said to come get him at a friends house at Bundall - he paddled all the way without getting out of his kayak once - it is normally impossible because of all the weirs etc - he said the Nerang River is full of floating eskies, tinnies, surfboards & gear etc & lots of swimming pools are under water - we can see a few pool motors under water from here ...Robina Parkway up the road has a few cars floating in it as well as the huge Main Roads tractors & rollers for the road works are all under water as well as the roundabout has about a metre over it so don't go that way....lucky we work at home though we're not trapped in here anyway...
