Went out camping with the kids last Fri. Got to the camp a bit late and finished setting up the tent just after dark with a bit of rain about and a light sprinkle on/off. Almost full moon had risen, a bit obscured by cloud, but providing penty of light.
One of the kids yelled out to me that they could see a rainbow. A rainbow at night? Yep, sure enough there it was. A very clear grey/silvery rainbow across the western sky. Could not believe my eyes. I had never heard of such a thing. It really was quite a breathtaking sight.
Have since found out(via google) that it's called a moonbow. Apparently very rare. Anyone ever seen one?
My phone was out of battery, so couldn't take a pic.
