However there were interviews or visuals about Nindigully (near Thallon in southwest Queensland), Moree (northern NSW), Barellan (Riverina of NSW) plus Horsham, Murtoa and Warracknabeal in the Wimmera of Victoria.
Craig Cochrane of GNC said at Marmalake (the huge railway receival storage with the famous 'Stick Shed') just on the Melbourne side of Murtoa, the storages were down to 20000 tonnes and within two weeks would only have 10000 tonnes remaining. GNC expected 400,000 tonnes into Marmalake alone. The harvest is running at five times the volume of some recent (drought) years. There was a shot of a grain train loading at Marmalake, while at Moree in NSW, the visuals showed the huge extra tarpaulin-covered 'extra' crop.
All the east coast growers interviewed said yields and volume were excellent, although parts of some crops in southwest Queensland - not a big winter crop grower - and northwest NSW had been hail damaged.
A lady Warracknabeal, Vic barley grower said forward sales of it had been good and customers (overseas I assume) were responsive, even though the interviewer in another part of the segment referred to the mainland Chinese bans/holdups and how that nation normally bought 650,000 tonnes of barley annually, half the normal barley crop.
A GrainCorp chap at Barellan also referred to very good forward sales.
A WA grower (not servied by GrainCorp, but presumably CBH over there) said every year demand was rising for wheat. (Whether that's true is something we ought 'fact check').
It was a positive report with a farm machinery dealer in Horsham saying already there was a buzz in this town of about 13,000 even though the Victorian harvest is always later (typically early to mid December) than NSW and Queensland.
