    impact of rain depends on how wet then soil is. If soil
    is dry then 70 mm might get to subsoil but with the plant growth starting to pump it will get used pretty quickly. The main thing is to have the moisture in spring at flowering and for grain filling then it can dry out. Also depends on how quickly it fell and what the slope is as well as to how much soaked in. I still think that other than a late frost that the bigger risk is too much rain at harvest. I remember the last La Nina there were bogged headers and chewed out paddocks all through central west and lots of shot and sprung grain going to feed. It’s not over till it’s at the silo. i hope for the sake of people coming out of drought that it goes well.
