Some great thoughts there Hopeful9. I wish we knew the answer as the stock is being played like a fiddle atm. It not hard to envisage a lot of investors are being burnt atm. Deaths in Australia are actually less than the same period last year due to less deaths from the flu. Less interaction means less chance of catching a disease. The funeral parlours in Oz are having a rough year. Check them out as competition is fierce for a smaller market.

It is a valid point many farmers have invested heavily in on farm silos or grain storage systems hoping to achieve a better price at a later date than simply selling off the paddock straight to GNC, CBH or who ever. Its fairly competitive out their for market share as farmers are canvassed relentlessly by grain commodity traders. Farmers these days are more business savvy than many of the bankers who claim to manage their accounts.

Its a shame the S.P. is languishing. Notifications from Norges Bank always lag the market by about a week. I watch volume as one indicator for an overshoot in price plus the length of a run. Its rare for a stock to reverse trend in a couple of days. Exhaustion of a trend are often indicated by a spike in price with an increase in volume.

Climate change is an issue, even farmers acknowledge this. Chances of getting 2 or 3 good years in a row are remote to say the least. Much of Oz is still in drought although Vic, NSW and to a lesser extent S.A. are in for a good year. Next year (21/22) is still a lottery thats why the stock is traded and not a core holding in many portfolios.

Despite the abuse, I trade the trend and ranges. Tax is not an issue as that's my business. I like the stock....at the right prices. Both High & Low.
