I'm not sure what Perthites do these days, but at one stage they insisted on installing black concrete tiles on roofs to maximise the amount of heat absorption into the ceilings space and rooms below. I think they went through the Tuscan style phase more recently and got rid f the pesky eaves that shaded the walls from solar heat gains, I think verandahs are extinct ..... physics wasn't a high priority starting the 70's as I have observed.
