I did like the San Francisco high rise gardens, which are open to the public. Good views while sly grogging and hiding food wrappers (compost) in the bushes.
In Perth, particularly in Victoria Park, there used to be commercial buildings with tanking roofs to hold a foot or two of water as an insulation and adiabatic cooling to heat ingress. I'm not sure if they pumped ground water to keep them topped up during summer.
