2 is possible but is it relevant? If the QLD borders had not been closed for so long, you almost certainly would have known many more with it.
I personally know a family here in Sydney who got it (Ruby Princess) all now OK. Lots of relatives and friends overseas got it; most are now fine, however a few died and a few have long Covid.
