However I would rather borrow for investment than borrow for depreciable assets.
No-one can say borrowing to buy shares is bad just because of a blimp on the market. Millions and millions have been made this way. Over extending is bad however and should be avoided.
I also don't particularly relish the thought of mom and dad investors losing everything so I suggest we try contain our glee when discussing their bad fortune.
