This is what I would call a sneaky lie: Misrepresent an important piece of the puzzle in an offhand way.
A while ago sceptics were saying "It's the Sun.", but in recent decades the Sun has been dimming slightly, yet temperatures have been increasing. This is in contrast with past observations and is why so many scientists have become concerned about greenhouse gas concentrations.
The sceptics are surprisingly quiet about the Sun now.
