FLEMSTER - I looked up your holiday spot again yesterday, and it brought back memories of an 8 week loop in our 4wd that we did some 12 -15 years ago from Mebourne through Kalgoolee, up the inland northern highway to Newman, looping around the Hammersley ranges, and then from karartha, south down the coast. ... we did stop over in the area of Ningaloo reef, and I can remember my wife making comments about the colour of the water on the ocean side of the peninsular - a beautiful turquoise - so that's where you were in the cape range national park ? ..... the coral reef was only a few metres from the sandy shoreline, so with a hired mask and flippers you could swim around beneath the water and view the coral and the myriads of colourful reef fish. the national park, I can not remember going in there but i'm sure your family had a nice time there.
