Reading between the announcements (attached below), It will takes a few months to ramp up from 480 TPH (ton per hour) to 550 TPH. This seems to conflict with previous announcement made on 28th September 2007 “Production will be ramped up over coming weeks to the designed ore throughput of 550tph”.
I assume with most start ups they will have with teething problems but eventually they will get fixed and the production up to speed (the nameplate rate).
Any comment?
Regards,
BL

Mindarie Zircon Mine Production Update
Construction of the Mindarie Zircon Mine is nearing completion, with total costs forecast to be below revised budget estimates. Commissioning has begun, with production of Heavy Mineral Concentrates proceeding satisfactorily. Production will be ramped up over coming weeks to the designed ore throughput of 550tph. Commissioning of the Concentrate Upgrade and Mineral Separation Plants will commence shortly. Railings will commence in October, with first shipments scheduled for later in the month.
From Chairman’s Address Annual General Meeting 9 November 2007
“Over the last 12 months:
(i) We finalised bank project financing;
(ii) We raised the required balance of the funding for the project;
(iii) We constructed the mine, have largely constructed our processing
facilities and, although we are still in commissioning phase, we have
commenced production.
As I speak, we are mining the Mindarie A2 orebody at rates up to 480 tonnes per
hour. We expect to ramp up production to our initial nameplate capacity of 550
tonnes per hour over the next several months”.
