Interesting to note that Posco claim the production side of the new plant is entirely automatic and unmanned. So I guess all the employee cars shown in the photo must be admin & marketing staff as one might expect. My point is - these days, more and more of these very large production plants of all types in the world are largely unmanned and run very cost effectively by by robot technology alone, yet the majority thinking here in Australia is that this country could never compete with the cheap labour available in Asian countries like China, Korea, etc. Surely these robots work at the same price and pace in any country? We need to change our thinking about labour costs preventing our global competitiveness and adopt newer technology instead.
