This Chinese converter has its own mines also. I believe the Sabi Star mine in Zimbabwe and another mine in China, possibly a Leshitolite mine. The Sabi Star mine has the usual ESG issues that Chinese company operating in Africa are known to have and the other mine has crap rock. They need some quality reliable SC from somewhere and PLS provides that close by. Considering the plant is rated at 60kt of Hydroxide, they need approx’ 450kt of SC to feed it at nameplate.
