Since December 2004 when gold started correcting in terms of US dollars the Rand price of gold has actually risen slightly. This is the first time since rand gold started it's fall from 3500 rand that a fall in the price of USD gold has not produced a fall in the price of Rand gold. Is this divergence pointing to a turnaround in the Rand gold price that could see shares such as DRD be the gold stocks to hold in 2005.
