Hi Sems.. I think that disagreement regarding sp increase and drilling resulta may have been at me and I respect your opinion. In fact it got me thinking... come to that in a minute..but its a good example of how thw market works..they say for every share in a company sold.. one is bought.. and both for different reasons.
But i reserve the right to retain my opinion and hope that yours is right!! If that makes any sense?
I ..as a DGR holder would.love to see the sp of solg go up with good drilling results.. as we know DGR will track it to some extent.
Just historically I never saw elevation in sp of with SOLG aasociated with great drill results.
Your vàlued comment gave me reason to think that perhaps now the world thenbig boys are interested in SOLG, ther could be more speculative action based on the fact that good results will have the likea of BHP sharpening their pencils and tapping on the electronic abacus. Get a position and wait for the offer.
Now. Back to the NTA question..is it worth watching?..most definitely..i have two NTA spreadaheets running..but to be honest..over the lastonth or so I havn't maintaines them..we have had some small dilution as dirextors benedited drom ezcercising options..and i have not plugged in the new numbers of the subs..maybe this is relecrion that i am bery comdortable with DGR right now..that or i have been lazy..in avtuality it takea a lot of time to maimtain upnrondate analysis...and time is not something i have had a lot of lately..so I apprexiate thise posters who do share there analysis and totally understand the different values that are presented.
To get to my point (even tho the title of this thread is random thoughts fornthisnvery reason)..i spwnt a lot of time rryingnto come up with an NTA that matches market value of DGR.. I spelt out my reasoning at the time on this forum..but i considered outstanding options and diluted the share price accordingly..also I consider our loans to the subs as bad ones and values them at i think 50% cash value...I still consider them bad loans and would not be surprises if AJQ pays theres back in scrip..which we know bases on NTA discount.. the market will value at 50% caah value. Am sure i had another couple of factors in there..bur took a blunt nose view ro why..how..or maybe the market discounts the NTA for DGR.
Noneeal conxlusive sentence to add to that laat spiel.. least to say. Everyone has different biases in their NTA..ans thata why we see the differwnt ones on thia forum and from FGR itself.
Something else i wanted to mention..
The pound vs NZD..this is a major factor in the SOLG contribution to DGR nta..
When.i wasaimtaining my NTA spreadheeta..I was using the fx At 1.75..last time i looked it was 1.7 and even dipped to 1.66..i see tonight is making a remarkable recovery..ate. there any fx gurus out there with any idea where the pund is heading over the next any period. I think that fx rate is worth watching as.close as thw solg share price..if the two come together
.we could see stella growth..if they oppose we ger neutralises..i can not bare to think about both imploding right now..
Anyway..nwatch that fx rate on your NTA calcs guys..it can thrownrhings round a little..
Let me tell you..i am from NZ..since i started buying DGR those years ago..i have loat 25% of my investment in the NZ vs AUD cross rate alone.The fx factor is a real consideration/theat.
Ok wnoughbrambling for one night..timenfor me to hitnthe shower and swill a beer or two..
