That's not a 'contradiction', it maybe a logical fallacy however depending on what you mean by 'true That's a classic case of playing with words. The definition of a contradiction is clear.
I'll give you just three of thousands of examples of contradictions in the bible, but I suspect I am wasting my time with people who think that the Bible was written or inspired by God.
Here they are: “… the earth abideth for ever.” — Ecclesiastes 1:4“ … the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” — 2Peter 3:10 These two statements can't both be true. They contradict each other.
“… I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” — Genesis 32:30 “No man hath seen God at any time…”– John 1:18 These two statements can't both be true. They contradict each other.
“… with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26“ …The LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.” — Judges 1:19 These two statements can't both be true. They contradict each other.
