According to "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" reported on December 9, the Japanese government will form a draft amendment to the tax system in 2018 in the near future. The draft is mainly concerned with the tariff adjustment of Dy-Fe alloy, a raw material for automobile engines. In the 2018 tax reform, the basic tax rate of 3.8% was changed to zero tariff.
Obviously, the Japanese government plans to adjust the basic tax rate of China-made Dy-Fe alloy to zero, paving the way for Japanese-related companies to import more rare earth Dy-Fe alloys from China.
