just saw the article in The West on Artemis and its WA rare earth projects
Yangibanna appears to be one of the few rare earth deposits with a resource (it doesnt appear to be JORC but in the top 5 in Australia)
Dr Mariano is regarded as the world's expert on rare earths - which appears to be facing restrictions and monopoly from China. Rare earths is a space to watch in the future.
Mariano was announced as special adviser to Artemis on its rare earth divsion

Report from the Australian - Robin Bromby

REMEMBER we told you a few weeks ago to brace for a slew of were getting into rare earths type announcements?

Since then, weve already had a few. And today Artemis Resources announced its picked up the Yangibana project in Western Australia where surface sampling has produced assays up to 19.44 per cent rare earths oxides. Among the metals in the complex there is neodymium (used in batteries) and europium (which is used in TV screens).

It is significant that Artemis makes reference to the issue of China controlling the worlds supplies of rare earths at present.

For those who want to read the announcement, it contains a useful summary of what rare earths are all about.

Striking out in a new direction, as well as still harping on about the rare earths angle, we should have mentioned Artemis Resources (ARV) before now.

Its quarterly reminds us that, apart from gold and lithium interests, it has the Yangibana rare earths deposit 260km northeast of Carnarvon. The junior has taken on as special adviser Tony Mariano, who has spent 50 years studying rare earths. On a recent visit from the US, Mariano visited Yangibana.

What caught our attention was that the US expert was struck by the neodymium evident at Yangibana. Those who follow our online reports will have seen last week that neodymium, which is used in wind turbines, is likely to be one of the rare earths in deficit over the next few years.

Mariano has taken samples back to the US and he'll be reporting back on what he finds.
