Not sure the article is correct. VW went to China for their motor designs they will make a few motors in Germany with parts supplied by China but for the most part China will produce completed motors including high end electronics an area Germany use to excel in. Tesla did most of their own theoretical design for model 3 but left it to China to do much of the implementation. When I opened the article I thought it was going to be about Pollution which china has only partially solved and only at biggest facilities That is what i think their biggest problem is.
