I made an appointment at Morgan's Geelong office and went in they did all the paper work there took 15min My wife and I signed it. Job done. Account is now open they said it may take up to 4 week for the shares to transfer across. But I let it slip that I have done a broker to broker transfer before. so I had to pay $440 to set up the account which is refundable when I sell my shares through them. Commission is about 1%
Morgan's were concerned that they would do all the work to get the shares transferred and I might transfer them to another broker (CMC) which .has cheaper rates and then they get nothing.
PS My mate is trying to get NAB to process his no luck after hours on the phone he is now going to use Morgan's.
