In China, in January 2022, the EAST reactorbroke the record for the longest sustained nuclear fusion with temperatures of 126 million degrees Fahrenheit - roughly five times hotter than the sun – sustained for 17 minutes.
Just nine months earlier they were hooting about <2 minutes.
This is an international effort.
