In anticipation of the auction for the Kolmozerskoye field, the company "Arctic Lithium" was created

Moscow. September 26. INTERFAX.RU - Arctic Lithium JSC was created in Monchegorsk, the company was registered on September 23, according to the materials of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL).

The authorized capital of Arctic Lithium is 1 million rubles. The company does not disclose the founders. Its CEO is Dmitry Vysotsky, who was previously a co-owner and head of construction companies in Moscow and the Stavropol Territory, currently owns 25% in the Moscow company Sandastrial for the production of concrete.

In June 2022, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, told Interfax about plans to hold an auction for the Kolmozerskoye lithium deposit in the Murmansk region in the third or fourth quarter of 2022. The minimum one-time payment at the auction may amount to 589.75 million rubles.

In April, Rosatom and Norilsk Nickel signed an agreement on joint projects for the development of the Kolmozerskoye field and further deep processing of lithium raw materials. The Polar Lithium joint venture was registered in July of this year in Moscow.

The Kolmozerskoye field is considered the largest in Russia (18.9% of domestic reserves, 75 million tons) and the most promising.

Now lithium, one of the key elements for batteries (including electric vehicles), is not mined in Russia.
