    I dont think you are going to see that for long time.
    I know that batteries are extremely heavy and the trade off between lift and weight and distance is not viable yet.
    The amount of batteries you need to make the same distances when carrying a commercial load when compared to turbine or piston aircraft is no where near it to make it commercially profitable.
    I think hybrid technology wth engines is a distinct possibility for the near future.
    The issue is this . When you fly you burn fuel and use loose weight from the fuel carried on board hence you can more load.
    With batteries you don't lose the excess weight less load to carried.
    I know in some training aircraft they have made 2 seat recreation aircraft fly on 30 mins charge. Thats the best so far. Bye the time you do all your checks and waiting time for clearances ect you are probably going to waste precious battery life.
    Hopefully. if things do change in future you would expect the company to evolve with engine technology and position them selves to take advantage .
