buyback is still only small vol and whilst we may have a santa claus rally the outlook into next year and perceived int rates rises is not encouraging. the question is whether they can raise finance at reasonable int rates for further acquisition and at the moment the answer is no, so proposed expansions are on hold. it also seems likely that the mortgage relief proposed in the US is unlikely to turn sentiment and further measures will be required next year. Sentiment on Japan trusts is particularly negative.
its all a waiting game until things turn around, but it could be an anxious wait.............
