"Sources in Kuala Lumpur denied remarks by a Malaysian deputy minister Fuziah Salleh who told The Australian Financial Review this week that the Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad had given her assurances Lynas would be forced to export waste back to Australia.
They also said Malaysia's cabinet had discussed the position on Lynas's rare earths processing plant several times and the issue would be a matter for the Prime Minister to decide, rather than a handful of vocal opponents in his government."
