I'm one of those who thinks governments /Reserve Banks would be better off doing nothing because most of the time they're just trying to justify their existence ,oftentimes misguidedly.
Nonetheless I can see on occasions that they can provide a short term fix ,even rarely a remedy ,the current situation and intervention being one that is still in the conjectural basket.
It's pointless surmising in fact because governments the world over are dependent on it ,they've got the keys to the safe and they won't be giving that up whatever the consequences.
Therefore we have central banks in our life forevermore really ,let's hope that they act with due prudence and don't start thinking that they can actually control what the economy does ,even though I'm sure that's what they do think .One thing I do know is that they consistently get it wrong on forecasts and projections ,but they're not on their own there either
