I spent 9.5 years living at Eaglehawk Neck, Tas. I was told by locals that the Neck had been breached twice in the last hundred years. Last time I can't remember what I was told, but would have to be many years ago. For a breach I would guess it would take a very, very huge storm surge to a height of 3 metres+.
