It's interesting to see that BPC is closing yet another bakery in a country area. Wagga Wagga's bakery will be closed and a depot established in the town using existing staff from the bakery.
A novel way of doing away with forced redundancies.
How many bakers and apprentice bakers would want to work effectively as a storeperson?
This method will help BPC save on costs as the more expensive employees at the bakeries will end up leaving as they won't want to work at a depot. Thus saving BPC from paying qualified bakers and avaoiding redundancy payouts. Leave entitlements will still need to be paid out of course.
Looks like BPC is serious about cutting any costs they can to make the GMF takeover work for them.
