A couple of minutes ago I watched some Victorian Govt spokesman (maybe Health Minister or CMO??) talking up RATs.
That they now "convey the same weight as a PCR test."
And that that is why countries overseas have switched to using RATs.
And that, in some cases, their accuracy is "over 95%". (Surprise, surprise.)
The guy looked distinctly nervous and a bit sheepish as he trotted out his lines.
I'm sure he was recalling that, until very recently, the Govt message was that the PCR test was the "Gold Standard".
The accuracy of RATs was nowhere near that of PCRs.
A PCR test was compulsory. RATs were, in fact, illegal in some states. Just incredible.
They change their position faster than squid change their camoflage!
(The difference being that squid are more intelligent.)
RATs...the new "Gold Standard"?
