Ok, I see what you mean. I thought you might be refering to US consumers etc needing to be strong to support China economically.

I think we will find that a new are has indeed begun though pug. 19th century was the british century, 20th the US's and the 21st will be China's. Its going to feel strange because virtually all anyone alive has known is US as either a sole or dual superpower.

From here on in (or say from a decade ago) I see it as one big techtonic plate of power shifting from west to east
