I am in the 20-40's with a morgage and kids. And frankly remember the Howard era as the toughest personally. Expenses for everything just sky rocketed (way above the official inflation rate).

My jobs is safe and I have other work options as well. The only bad thing for me personally is my super is gettign wacked as is the (thankfully modest) amount I have in investments in the stock market - neiher of which I planned to access for many years anyway.
