    I don't think any such things Meteor. All your post proves is that you have no idea how others think.
    For starters there is no such thing as clean coal. All coal is dirty but some types are dirtier than others.
    Get it...there is no such thing as clean coal.
    Then you claim power generated by coal is cheapest. What makes you think that? Has coal become free like sunlight, wind etc?
    Then you claim coal fired power will attract industry. Sorry to break this to you sunshine but every industry that could left Australia for Asia long ago when most power was still coal generated. For industry Asia offers almost no OH&S for workers, almost no environmental compliance costs, a slave level of wages with no superannuation to pay etc etc. Cost wise there is no contest with Australia.
    Of course we should be concerned about other countries if they are increasing their output of greenhouse gasses, but that is not a reason to do nothing to reduce them here.
