rba holidays

Not sure if this is the correct thread for this question, but I suppose that the lack of flexibility within government departments may adversely affect the XJO, so i ask:
Can someone explain to me why the rba does not sit in January?

Surely with the largest financial crisis of our time, they should get off their collective backsides and call a Board meeting for January, rather than waiting till February to review the numbers and cash rate.

The economy is so volatile, that waiting 2 months for any decision in changing the cash rate could be of great detriment to our own economy.... They need to wake up and get with the times - with only a 0.1% increase in growth for the December quarter, a 100 cut to the cash rate, there needs to be consideration of how the economny was affected during for the month of December (especially given retailers are going to get smashed this Christmas). What if 100 was way too shy? No way to change it.

Maybe i expect too much for my tax dollars
