He needs to get his system checked.
Part of the problem with all these small (ie roof top) solar is that they are collectively lifting the voltage.
If mains running ar 240 v..solar need to increase voltage to export (ie pushintothe grid)
The system adjusts upping the volatge....now multiply this by thousands or inverters doing thiss.
This means you cannot export as much when you are making heaps as other are doing the same.
This is making it harder to maintain a clean power delivery for teh energy companies.
One system, 12Kw I know of was near 255V trying to feed in the grid......I believe it should shut down before reaching this level but wasnt.
(I've have solar for over & decade & havn't paid abill in that period, although my credits have reduced over time - started out at $2/$2.5k pa - still onthe 52c tarriff)
