bundalee, i was lucky kind of. My father gave me my first house.
It was a transportable that he wanted to get of his block so he could build his nice house with good veiws. He went to a land auction when i was at work and bought a block for me when i was at work. So second year of working i was paying of a block and finding money for the the lift and shift.
He lived in the house with me for about 2yrs and stipulated that if i got the phone put on it would cost me 10k for the house or free if i didn't have a phone.
I had a 2yrs of being out of debt since then but having a place to call home whatever the price for me is the best incentive to keep working.
I don't think giving the kids a hand is a problem as long as we instill a good work ethic. They will work the rest out themselves(i hope)
