I understand that RC was in developed negotiations with a third party and when RC presented the proposed deal to the board, the board tried to change the goalposts after thinking it would dilute the share price too much.
RC did not want the boards actions (changing the posts and the deal falling over) to reflect on him so he left.
Where to now? FID looks as likely to happen as Julia Gillard winning the next election
