To me, it is synonymous with a "Chartist" (I did also mention "trader" in my post), though it is used both ways. Feel free to look it up... Nevertheless, I will try to remember next time to say: "As someone who analyses technicals " instead. Despite the tremendous irony of that, I can see how someone might confuse the two and will attempt to be more careful.
From my studies on the topic, official qualifications have very little statistical correlation to "success" in investing/trading... very few actively managed Funds have ever outperformed an index fund over time. (I guess at least they don't lose all their money like most punters though). Don't get me started on the accuracy (or lack thereof) of 12-month broker-report targets. Not saying there is no place for these things, and there are exceptions as well, but they should be put in perspective IMHO based on the facts. No less than anyone else providing their solicited or unsolicited opinions on these matters. The one great thing about HC is that, if you have the patience, you can check a poster's history rather easily (even if they hide it, by placing their username in the search box).
