There must be a reasonable chance R327 will be useful against COVID. Recce has already demonstrated through the Special Access Scheme efficacy for Sinusitis! This was through nasal spray application - several doses over a short period with relief from intractable long term sinusitis happening rapidly. The big issue with R327 and COVID, as I understand it, is efficacy and potential toxicity; with potential toxicity being the big issue slowing down progress. This I don't quite understand as from all reports the COVID viral load is initially focused in the Nose; why can't they simply use the same dose used in the Special Access Scheme for Sinusitis as a nasal spray against COVID; we already know that dose was not toxic given it was allowed to be used for the sinusitis? If it works, everyone who comes up positive should be given R327 nasal spray as an initial first treatment regardless of whether symptomatic (to knock down the viral load). Or is it a matter of R327 has no efficacy against the virus or that a quantum higher dose is required for COVID resulting in toxicity. The preceding is just some musings, but there is potential for the RECCE candidate - notwithstanding the last time I looked there were hundreds in the race to find a "Knock down" treatment separate from vaccination.

I hope in the case of RECCE, it is a case of slowly slowly catchy monkey!!
