Not the ideal close on international markets Friday for release of any negative news today. I get the impression the news of the number of patients treated may have forced the delay of quarterly. I wonder if they have become a victim of their success in treating burns. Up until now the big issue with developing anti biotics Is the poor return because they get "held in reserve" and are not used as first line defence. Maybe now burns ward is aware how effective the product is they fear that when trial participants reach 30 maybe they would lose access until it is fully approved a lot later? As such they are now in the same situation of keeping it in reserve for only the worst out of control infections. Unfortunately as Rce stated the trial is being run and mostly funded by others and as such they can't do much. Under normal circumstances such as iv trial the organisers sign up participants and get it done but in this case it seems to have turned into a de facto emergency access scheme. Very frustrating.
